Herb Crusted Pork Tenderloin is as flavorful as it is tender. A simple dinner idea that only takes a few dried herbs that most people have in their spice rack.
What types of Herbs are used to coat Pork Tenderloin?
You can use a variety of dried herbs to coat a Pork Tenderloin. This recipe calls for a few dried herbs including Parsley, Basil, Garlic Powder, Rosemary, Dill, Salt, and Oregano. The combination of all the herbs compliment the meat. However, they do not over power the Pork.
Cover the entire Pork Tenderloin with the herb mixture and let sit for a 1/2 hour before you put on the grill.
How do you grill Pork Tenderloin that is covered in dried herbs?
Grilling a Herb Crusted Pork Tenderloin is the most important step in this recipe. Clearly covering a tenderloin with herbs is not a difficult task. Might even be something the kids would enjoy doing if you want to get them involved with dinner time. The grilling portion however is the difference between a nice simple meal that tastes top notch compared to a charred mess that tastes burnt.
Place the tenderloin down over direct medium heat. Have the grill temp up to 400 degrees F when you begin the grilling process. This is not a grilling recipe that you should walk away from the grill. Let the tenderloin grill for 5 minutes and then with a pair of grilling tongs roll the tenderloin to the other side.
Grill Marks when grilling pork tenderloin
You should have very faint grill marks on the tenderloin. If it looks like it is burning this early in the grilling process then turn your heat down.
Continuing grilling and turning every few minutes. If you start to get areas of the tenderloin that are starting to burn then pick up the tenderloin and move it to another grill section. Don’t drag the meat along the grill grates! You’ll brush off all the tasty herbs.
Make sure each side of the tenderloin is grilled. Don’t leave the Pork on one side for two long. If you see the meat getting burnt don’t hesitate to lower the temp of the grill. If you need to go to low flame don’t hesitate to do so.
Internal Temp of Pork Tenderloin
With a meat thermometer check the internal temp of the pork tenderloin. Once the Pork Tenderloin hits 145 degrees F take it off the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, pork is safe to consume when it hits an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. If you keep it on the grill past 145 degrees F you are risking the pork tenderloin to be dry. The reason why is because the tenderloin will continue to rise in temp while resting.
Once the tenderloin has rested for a few minutes, slice the meat with a sharp knife about a 1/2 inch to one inch thick. At 145 to 150 degrees F the pork should be a nice medium rare. Very tender and full of flavor because of the herbs.

October 22, 2022 at 6:47 pmI loved this herb mix. I feel like dill is underused but it was so good on the pork!
